AIPIS.orgA critical and sometimes under-discussed characteristic of what makes a place prime to invest in property is entertainment opportunities. The truth is humans tend to get bored easily. We like to live where there are plenty of distractions (in a good way) and entertainment choices. It just so happens that one of the hottest Platinum Properties Investor Network markets right now is Phoenix, Arizona. People have been flocking to this desert oasis for decades and one reason is there’s a lot to do.

1. Arizona Diamondbacks: It seems like the brutal heat of summer would make for a miserable professional baseball experience for players and fans alike, but that is not the case. Ever since Chase Field opened in 1998, it has become one of the signature Major League Baseball Stadiums. The retractable roof offers a nice respite from the heat when needed. Though attendance has slipped since the World Series winning year of 2001, the presence of pro baseball in a city almost always bodes well for business.

2. Golf: We’re not sure if anyone knows exactly how many golf courses are in and around the greater Phoenix metro area. Suffice it to say a lot. A certain segment of the population will always love to get out and hit the little white balls around, and with so few climates amenable to do it year-round, chalk up another reason this part of Arizona looks like a good place to invest in property.

3. Hiking: Lots of people like to get out and hike. The city of Phoenix is surrounded by the Camelback Mountains and city officials have been kind enough to set aside miles of hiking, mountain-biking, and horseback-riding trails. This is another excellent reason people choose to live and stay in the area, including renters who will be looking for your property.

4. Arizona Cardinals: For years, the NFL Cardinals were a terrible team permanently lodged in the basement of pro football standings and playing in an old college stadium. A recent run to the Super Bowl on the strong right arm of quarterback, Kurt Warner, rejuvenated interest in the team. Enough that a $450 million dollar state-of-the-art stadium was constructed. Ladies and gentleman, football!

These are only a few of the reasons it makes sense to us to invest in property in Phoenix. This vibrant area offers big city amenities, great weather, and even better deals for the income property investor.
